Mark and his wife Sherry Madej moved to Schaumburg in 1982. As the father of two boys, Mark immediately became active in the community as a Boy Scout leader and also as a Red Cross volunteer. Service as a Boy Scout leader led Mark to volunteer for Schaumburg’s Septemberfest for many years. He became a member of the official Septemberfest Committee in 2001, and was appointed as a Village Trustee in 2005 and was elected to a full term in 2007 and re-elected in 2011.

Mark also served as the village’s representative on the Board of Directors of the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA). CEDA is one of the largest private non-profit community action groups in the country, and serves more than 375,000 Cook County residents annually. CEDA offers more than forty programs and services in areas of child and family development, health and nutrition services, senior citizen programs, economic development, employment and job training, housing services, education services and community development. Mark has been a strong supporter of the village's LED street lighting initiative.

Mark Believes in making decisions by the Village's motto, "Progress Through Thoughtful Planning."

Brian has been a resident of Schaumburg since 1979. Married with three children, Brian lives, works and plays (volunteers) in Schaumburg. Currently Brian is employed as Director of Sales Engineering and oversees the technical sales process for UbiStor, Inc., a Schaumburg based IT Managed Services provider specializing in data protection, IT disaster recovery and private cloud hosting services. Past employers include IBM, Comdisco Inc, N2N Solutions (Schaumburg), Meridian IT Solutions and Dimension Data (Schaumburg).

Brian has been engaged as a volunteer in Schaumburg and neighboring communities for many years including the following organizations.

Village Trustee - Since 1991

Elected in 1991, re-elected in 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011, and 2015. Chairman of Finance, Legal & General Government Committee. Serve on Public Safety Committee and Planning, Building & Development Committees.

Village President Pro-Tem since 2009.

Appointed to NLC Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Advocacy Committee in 2013.

Schaumburg Regional Airport Advisory Commission - Since 1995

One of two village representatives on Intergovernmental board overseeing operations of the Schaumburg Regional Airport. Chairman 2018 – 2019, 2007 – 2008, and 2000 – 2003. Alternate 1995 – 1997.

Illinois International Convention Center Authority - 1993 to 1996

Village representative to original committee working to bring a convention center to the Northwest suburbs. Authority included representatives from Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, Elk Grove Village, and Palatine.

Schaumburg Plan Commission - 1989 to 1991

Member of village commission which evaluates primarily residential development and building variation requests, and recommends action to the Village Board.

Schaumburg Business Development Commission - 1986 to 1991

Member of village commission which encourages and promotes mutually beneficial relations between village government and the business community. Continue as a non-voting ex-officio member since 1991.

Ad-Hoc Committee on Residential Development - 1983 and 2002

Member of committee studying proposed standards for housing sizes and development densities. Result was adoption of overall low-density R-7 single-family zoning classification for future residential development.

Village Clerk Karr has served as Village Clerk for 14 years having been appointed on November 19, 2004. Before becoming Village Clerk she worked in banking since 1957 and retired from LaSalle Bank as Assistant Branch Manager at the Woodfield Branch in January 2005. She has two children, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is from Ohio, moving to Illinois in 1979, to Schaumburg in 1987 and is an original owner in the Ashton Park Subdivision.
